Intramuros is located in Metro Manila, the capital of the Philippines. It is known as the "Walled City of Manila".

I've been to different parts of the Philippines and I feel that it is somehow a responsibility to share places that we can visit even if we are staying in Manila.

I stayed in Manila for years due to work and I rarely get to visit places around Manila. Why not explore Manila, right? So let's start with Intramuros and nearby places.

How to go to Intramuros, Manila?

If you are already In Manila, just take the LRT (Light Railway Transit) Line1 and get off at Central Terminal Station (This is where SM Manila and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila is). Walk towards Manila City Hall then from here, take the underpass pedestrian which will lead you to Padre de Burgos Street. Be ready as the underpass most of the time is very crowded.

Once you reach the Arch with a guard dressed in an old-civilian uniform, you are already in Intramuros area. You have some options to visit the so-called "Walled City". You can either choose to walk, to rent a bike or hire a tricycle or pedicab to make you explore the place, or why not try the Calesa (a horse-drown carriage) tours being offered there as well.

Binondo Food Trip

Binondo Food Trip, this is where you can try different foods being offered at Binondo. It is the China Town in Manila where you can find the famous hopia.

We tried Cafe Mezzanine and it's so nice to know that all revenue of this restaurant is donated to the fire brigade of Binondo. Their Lava Buchi and Spring Tikoy, definitely a must try!

If you like museums, National Museum should be one of your must see must visit place. Good thing it is currently free of charge.

The famous Spoliarium by Juan Luna can be found in this museum.

Rizal Park is also known as Luneta Park. It is the iconic urban park in Metro Manila. You can visit this early in the morning during the night to avoid the excessive heat of the sun.

I love the scene during the night at Escolta Manila. Looks like it brings you back in the older times.

Just be alert and watch out whenever you will take pictures or make sure someone is with you to avoid unnecessary incident.
